Christmas Decor Storage Solutions to Start the Year Fresh
Anyone else think they were going to have all their Christmas decor down by January 1st… and then life happened? Because, same! Between kids, work, and just the general post-holiday chaos, we’re only now finishing up taking everything down—and honestly, it feels so good to finally get things put away and get the house back in order.
But this year, I decided to do things differently. Usually when we pull down the bins from the attic, I’m shocked (and slightly horrified) at the way everything was packed away the year before. So I made it my mission to get organized this time around—with some really simple and affordable Christmas decor storage solutions that actually make the process easier and less overwhelming.
Ornament Storage Boxes
The first game-changer was grabbing these ORNAMENT ORGANIZERS (Amazon find!). Each box has little compartments so every ornament stays safe and in its own spot—no more digging through piles of tissue paper or broken ornaments. I grabbed one for each tree, which made things so much simpler when packing away. Now, each tree’s decorations have their own dedicated home, and it makes unpacking next year 100x easier.
I love that these storage boxes have handles and stack neatly. They’re also lightweight but sturdy, which makes a huge difference when you’re trying to haul things up to the attic.

Next up: the TREE STORAGE BAGS—and let me tell you, these were a total win. The old cardboard boxes never last long (especially in the Texas heat), so I finally ordered one for each tree. They’re large enough to fit the tree and the tree collar, and the zippers make it so easy to seal everything up and keep it dust-free.
They were super affordable, and I love that everything feels so much more contained now. No more ripped boxes or worrying about things getting crushed while stored away for the year.
Making Clean-Up a Family Event
One of my favorite parts of taking down the Christmas decor is always having help from my daughter. She’s my little organization buddy and was so good about helping put ornaments away carefully. The day we packed everything up ended up being extra special because she even lost her first tooth that day—it was definitely one to remember!
Meanwhile, my husband handled all the outdoor decor (thankfully) and helped me take down our big tree once he finished.
